Bolt Circle
The Bolt Circle module calculates the Cartesian Coordinates for any given Bolt Circle with up to 100 holes. Unknown values for the Bolt Circle, hole Diameter or Distance Between Holes can be calculated using the Bolt Circle module. The angle to the first hole can be set from 0° to 359.99°.
To solve a Bolt Circle at least two pieces of information needs to be entered, or up to four pieces can be entered. Use the tab, enter or short cut keys, or click with the mouse to enter the information in the desired Text Boxes. The Number of Holes in the Bolt Circle is one pieces of information that MUST be entered. The number of holes MUST be a WHOLE number. If the Bolt Circle is known, that is the only other information that is required. After entering the two pieces of information click with the mouse on the Calculate Bolt Circle button or use the enter or tab keys. The Hole Diameter, Measured Distance Between Holes or the Degrees to Hole #1 can also be entered. For an example of this see Figure 7. If the Bolt Circle is unknown but the Hole diameter and the Measured Distance Between Holes is known the Bolt Circle can still be calculated. If the Bolt Circle and the Hole Diameter are known the Measured Distance Between Holes can be determined. Or, if the Bolt Circle and the Measured Distance Between Holes are known then the Hole Diameter can be determined. After the Bolt Circle is calculated a drawing of the Bolt Circle will appear.
On some Digital Readouts the scales are on backwards. If the scales are backwards they are not using a True Cartesian Coordinate System. The Bolt Circle module can make this conversion by clicking with the mouse on the D.R.O. button or the Cartesian button or by using the short cut keys.
